Chris Johnson, RB, Titans
With history on the line, Johnson dashed his way into the 2,000-yard club on 36 carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns — despite having a 62-yard sprint called back due to a late holding flag — during a 17–13 victory at Seattle. In the process, Johnson broke Marshall Faulk’s all-time yards-from-scrimmage record (2,429 yards), broke Earl Campbell’s Oilers-Titans franchise record (2,006 yards) and joined O.J. Simpson, Eric Dickerson, Barry Sanders, Terrell Davis and Jamal Lewis as the sixth 2,000-yard rusher in history.

Brett Favre, QB, Vikings
The 40-year-old man had a real, comfortable game, tossing the pigskin around like a backyard game against the once-fierce Big Blue Wrecking Crew Giants defense. Favre completed 25-of-31 passes for 316 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions during a 44–7 statement victory. After several weeks of controversy, Favre capped one of the best seasons of his 19-year career — completing 68.4 percent of his passes for 4,202 yards, 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions for a career-high 107.2 passer rating — with an MVP performance.

Derrick Johnson, LB, Chiefs
Longhorns fans can only hope that Texas makes at least one Johnson-style big play in Thursday’s BCS national title game. The former Butkus Award winning linebacker had two interceptions returned 105 yards for two trips to the end zone — covering 45 and 60 yards, respectively — during a 44–24 blowout of the AFC West division rival Broncos. Despite having “nothing” to play for, Kansas City crushed Denver’s playoff hopes with arguably its best all-around performance of the season.
